Start the full day trip with a car ride to Salento, one of the most picturesque, quaint and traditional villages in the coffee region. Its houses are painted with vibrant colors, which match the charismatic character of the locals. After strolling down Salento’s delightful streets, you will enjoy a delicious coffee at the plaza. Then embark on a 90 minute hike in the spectacular Cocora Valley, where you will be astonished by the tallest palm in the world (wax palm) which is the national tree of Colombia.
Take time to immerse yourself with nature. Let all the local impressions sink in while we will take you for lunch. Trout is always on the menu, caught daily by local fisherman! This delicacy is an experience as it is not a fish exported outside of Colombia.
Salento – Cocora Valley
Termales Santa Rosa de Cabal: Approx. 1 hour one way
Termales Tierra Viva: Approx. 1 hour one way
Termales el Otoño: Approx. 40 mins one way
San Vicente: Approx. 1,5 hours one way
Visible from the farm. 1.5h away by car, great landscapes, different to anything one has seen before. Unique vegetation typical from high altitudes can be seen. Can stop at thermal waters.
Can be seen from the farm. 20 minutes driving time. Highly recommended for birdwatching. More than 250 different bird species can be seen in their private forest. Birdwatching tours with a guide from the hotel begin at 6:30am and go until 5pm. One can also go to the hotel for breakfast only in the morning and observe the beautiful gardens and hundreds of birds that come down to the birdfeeders. The hotel spends 1 ton of bananas per month to feed the birds!
